Right before the Christmas break, Delorean would like to congratulate everybody out there with a new remix. This time we remixed our favourite new band: The Big Pink. We just tried to go deeper on the beautiful path the original track opens. Aina helped us with some backing vocals too. And we mastered the track with Alex Ferrer (The Requesters, Sidechains). Actually, the remix seems to be perfect as a prelude to our next release with the fluokids related brand new label FOOLHOUSE. After remixing The Teenagers, The Mystery Jets, Lemonade and The Big Pink, time has come for our own stuff. The Foolhouse EP will include 4 tracks and many remixes by nice remixers out there. Watch out for news!!!

Decir Glasvegas es pensar en el Glasgow obrero, en el espíritu de The Clash o en sus paisanos The Jesus & Mary Chain cuyas canciones les deben mucho. También es hablar del wall of sound inventado por Phil Spector o en el rock de los años 50 y 60, sin olvidar a Joey Ramone, tan presente en el deje vocal James Allan, principal cerebro de la banda.
Estaríamos muy equivocados si les juzgásemos como un hype más de temporada. Ellos no se quedan en el mero cliché al que estamos acostumbrados últimamente y logran cautivarnos gracias a unas canciones donde a pesar de que las influencias son de lo más variado, consiguen sonar a ellos mismos.
Quizá, puede reprochárseles el pecar de excesivos en ocasiones, pero nadie puede negarles el ser una de las bandas más emocionantes de la actualidad gracias a su capacidad para acompañar a sus temáticas, generalmente sociales, de melodías apasionantes y desgarradoras, mostrándose melodramáticos y épicos, -y que nadie entienda por épico la ñoñería de la escuela de los últimos U2 o Coldplay, o lo teatrero de Arcade Fire o Flaming Lips-.
Para construir un debut redondo, los escoceses han recurrido una gran cantidad de temas previamente publicados (“Go Square Go”, “Daddy’s Gone”, “Geraldine”o “Flowers & Football Tops”), que con la nueva producción suenan engrandecidos y mucho más contundentes. Si a esto le sumamos otros momentos tan brillantes como “It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry”, “Lonesome Swan”, “Polmont On My Mind” o “Ice Cream Van”, podemos decir que estamos ante una de las nuevas perlas de la música contemporánea.

Desde la distancia en el tiempo y sin ningún archivo de audio disponible es dificil saber lo que supuso un programa como "El Búho Musical" en aquel tiempo. Surfeando por Internet encuentro cosas como:
"El Profe; Morante y Paco Pérez Brian, ponían disco de AC/DC y Motorhead en el Búho Musical. Aquel no era un programa Heavy exclusivamente, sino que los sonidos cañeros se entremezclaban con las producciones sofisticadas que en aquellos tiempos constituían la vanguardia de la New Wave." El Mundo
"En Radio Juventud los programas más escuchados son El buho musical, Selección 15 y Caminando, entre los musicales, y entre losCulturales destaca Claqueta, Madrid y Medio ambiente. Fuera del ámbito de Radio Juventud los oyentes de esta emisora prefieren Hora 25 y Los 40 principales (Cadena SER). Le siguen Radio 3 y Radio España." El País
Por lo que sabemos que Paco Pérez Bryan presenta el Búho en 1978, entrevista a personalidades como The Jam, The Police, Cheap Treack, The Knack, Van Halen, Joe Jackson, Nick Love, Ramones, Stranglers... A mediados de los 80 es el programa mas escuchado de la FM.
